The spirit of creation that informs my work--a walk in the light, the joy of discovery, the wonder of play--is born from the same energy that held me captive when I was small enough to fit beneath the coffee table arranging my glass and plastic figurines into stories to be acted out. That energy has grown in to stories and poems, sought outlets through gardening and quilting, and currently blossoms through these felted designs.

I have not followed a traditional path to becoming a fiber artist, but I find that my time spent immersed in the reading and writing necessary to become a high school English teacher and to dabble in writing short stories and poems has been the perfect preparation for the work I am engaged in now.  The mysteries of feltmaking provide endless opportunities for research and exploration, and I am fully captivated by the ways in which wool can be both exacting and flexible depending upon the method I am using to develop a piece.

I have been lucky to stumble in to a land of neverending learning, and luckier still to be able to share it with others through my work and the teaching of this art form to students of all ages.  I offer classes through my home studio, Holcomb Farm, Monart School in South Windsor, Delaware Outdoor Adventure Center in Winsted, and a variety of wool shops throughout the area.
