| Kristen is a 1987 graduate of Skidmore College where she majored in Art with a minor in Art History. She has also studied at the Camberwell School of Art in London, England, The Museum School in Boston, and Rhode Island School of Design while in high school. Kristen is most interested in the nuances of light on a subject and the exciting color play it creates in a composition. She paints in oils, both en plein air and in the studio. In recent years Kristen has studied with David Lussier, Caleb Stone, and Paul Batch. Kristen is a member of Granby Artists Association, Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, and the West Hartford Art League. Her awards include first place in the CT Plein Air Painters annual juried show, 2008; The Tudor Holcomb Award at the Granby Land Trust Show, 2010, and The Ray Betts Memorial Award at The Granby Land Trust Show, 2007. Kristen also paints murals and enjoys printmaking. |
