In January 2020, after attending a workshop in Boston, I began creating epoxy resin seashell and glass artwork inspired by my lifelong love of the ocean. I have collected shells from beaches around the world, and I was excited to transform those treasures into three-dimensional beach scenes that capture the beauty and serenity of the shore.
Each piece I create is entirely unique—no two are the same. I carefully select shells gathered from beaches including Florida, the New Jersey Shore, Cape Cod, the Connecticut shoreline, Spain, France, St. Kitts and Nevis. I thoughtfully compose the shells into layered coastal designs that evoke cherished seaside memories.
I began this artistic journey by gifting my work to friends. Encouraged by their enthusiasm, I expanded into selling through boutique shops, participating in art fairs, craft and vendor fairs and entering juried art shows.
In addition to resin artwork, I design decoupage oyster shell trinket dishes. Each shell is finished with gold leaf-painted edges to enhance its natural beauty, and pearl-beaded “feet” are added to the base for stability and an elegant, distinctive touch.
Art has always been an important part of my life. From a young age, I studied oil painting, acrylics, and pen and ink, and later continued with watercolor instruction. Creativity runs in my family—my uncle was a renowned artist in the mid-1900s.
I hold a Master’s degree in Public Health from Yale School of Public Health and an undergraduate degree from Wheaton College and Williams College. I am deeply involved in my community, serving on the Boards of the Granby-Simsbury Chamber of Commerce and the Granby Artists Association and volunteering with Connecticut Foodshare.
Throughout the year, I participate in several fundraisers supporting the American Heart Association, the Granby Ambulance Association and other local non-profits. Giving back through my art is incredibly meaningful to me.
Through my work, I hope to share the beauty of the ocean and bring a little piece of the shore into people’s homes and hearts.
I joined the Granby Artists Association in June 2022 and love being part of such a supportive creative community.
