Marian Rowles

Marian, a long-time resident of Granby, Connecticut, has been working in watercolors for the past decade.

A full-time wife, mother of two sons, and a Connecticut Master Gardener, her latent talent for creating art was reawakened in the late 1990s during her eight years at the Friends of Holcomb Farm’s Learning Center as office manager, where she came to know and be inspired by the many artists who were central to creating art programs and workshops at and during the infancy of the Farm. This dynamic group sparked and encouraged her creative spirit and, after retiring from the Farm in 2006, she began her studies under Bill Simpson, Laura Eden, and Lori Rapuano in oil, pastels, and watercolors.

Her works are inspired by her love of the myriad scenes of Granby ranging from her own backyard and gardens to the woods and barns that reflect New England seasons long past.

A member of an Artists’ Discussion Group and the Granby Artists Association, Marian has displayed her art at the Granby Public Library, the Gallery on the Green in Canton, Connecticut, the Simsbury Public Library, the East Granby Public Library and Lost Acres Vineyard.
