Granby Oak

Granby Artists invite you to create artwork inspired by Granby’s beloved Dewey-Granby Oak and exhibit at the show. All levels of experience and all media are welcome!

Public Reception: December 6 from 5–7 pm.

The theme of our 25th anniversary community art show is the Dewey-Granby Oak. This massive and ancient white oak, located at 82 Day Street, is owned by the Granby Land Trust, who cares for the tree so that it can be part of Granby for generations to come. Let this grand tree inspire you! Your creation can be inspired by part of the tree: a leaf, an acorn, a branch; how the tree looks in a particular season; or can include people or animals who enjoy its shade or shelter—it is up to you! Any medium is welcome: including but not limited to photography, drawing, sculpture, collage, painting, fiber arts, glass, woodworking, etc.

Artwork requirements:

  • All pieces must be wired on back for hanging. No sawtooth hangers.

  • 3D work must be wired and able to hang from the wall.

  • Maximum size is 30 inches on longest length.

  • This is not a juried show, though Granby Artists and Lost Acres Vineyard reserve the right to decline a work. Work must be family friendly.
