Beth Erdmann
Beth is a Simsbury-based photographer and equestrian who shares her home with three lively husky mixes and her horse, aptly named Kodachrome. Though a native of Long Island, she grew up in the Berkshires and later called central Massachusetts and Woodstock, CT home before finally putting down roots in Simsbury,
Her journey with a camera began in the seventh grade, evolving from high school darkroom days to a blended background in professional darkroom techniques with a lifelong love for horses. Her early career was built on the hands-on mastery of film and print—from managing labs to assisting local photographers. She eventually transitioned into a career in computer information and telecom, ultimately landing in technical project management.
Photography and horses have always been the perfect way to balance the technical world with soulful creativity. The name of her business, Unique Perspectives Photography, was born from her penchant for crafting artistic, unconventional views of the ordinary things we often overlook.
As a lifelong animal lover, her photography has naturally blended with her passion for horses. Her current projects have been focused on equine photography, endeavoring to capture the powerful spirit of horses, the connection between horse and human. She brings that same intuition to soulful pet portraits and human lifestyle sessions. Whether working with a four-legged friend or a human subject, she aims to capture the character that defines them.
