Alexander Sogliero
Hello I’m Alexander. Here’s a little about myself and my craft:
I work full-time in Information Technology, but when not fixing a broken computer, I can usually be found on an obscure New England trail with camera in hand.
I’ve been practicing the art of photography since childhood, when (much to my late father’s chagrin) I first discovered his Nikon medium format film camera in the closet. I was fascinated with it—from the flat black understated finish to the sizable lens on the front—I loved it all. In college, I made the transition to the digital realm, and through the years have continued to read, learn, and evolve within that space.
A few years ago, I combined my longstanding interest in woodworking with photography and began building custom frames from scratch. That evolution has brought me to a place where I now control the entirety of the creative process: from shooting to printing, and then matting and framing. I proudly do all my own work in-house which has been a very fulfilling endeavor. I enjoy all aspects of photography from wildlife to working with people in my studio to create dynamic portraits—the many facets of image making always keep the creative juices flowing.
The arts are the most powerful creative outlet in existence, and I’ve found in my own experience that leveraging them to get through life’s many trials and tribulations is crucial to weathering its storms with grace.
