Joy Marx
I began oil painting in the 1970s in an afternoon “mom’s” class. I fell in love with the process. Over the years, I attended an assortment of classes, not quite finding what I was looking for, a teacher who would provide a learning experience that would broaden my knowledge in all aspects of art and enhance my technical skills. In 2009, I found such a class with teacher Lynda Montefusco at A Stroke of Color studio. For the last three years I’ve taken classes with Shauna Shane at the West Hartford Art League. In addition to oil painting, I also work in colored pencil.
I am a proud member of the Granby Artists Association, serving as past Secretary and currently as Vice President. I have made many friends with whom I’ve happily worked on events the association conducts each year.
