Art and music have always been an integral part of my life.  At a very early age I entertained myself by coloring with crayons or a pencil, feeling the movement of my arm and fingers as I formed rhythms of lines and blotches of color.  Music in the background was the catalyst. Always had to have it, still do!

Through the years my art has gone through many phases. Sketching in fine line with watercolor added, acrylics, collage, etching and oils. Different mediums excite me in different ways. Some of my life’s experiences are reflected in my work. In college, I experimented with abstract expressionism. As a young mother, illustrating children became my interest. Composing a painting in the studio or en plain air is a challenge. My oil paintings are mostly influenced by the Impressionists. Observing and conveying the effect of light on color and how to interpret that light is exciting. Landscapes, interiors, children at play, and capturing the likeness of a beloved pet is very rewarding. I’ve been experimenting with abstracts again, using music as my theme. Music and art are a constant with me.
